smBlue shoesOpened in June 2012, Vanuatu Jungle Zipline has thrilled many families of all ages. The youngest participants are four years old and seem to take zipping high in the canopy with mom and dad like a normal day out, all in their stride. Zipline’s oldest participant has been Kirby, at 89 years young, who was spry and keen for all kinds of adventure! We are told he breezed through the zipline with a grin. But generally speaking, everyone gets a bit of a thrill with amazing views of the reefs and ocean far below, a lovely walk through pristine jungle and some exercise all rolled into one. At least average mobility is required to cope with the 67 stairs in the jungle. For those who are thrill seekers, the opportunity to zip upside down will get the adrenaline pumping!

smhideaway photo 2 mbVanuatu Jungle Zipline has recently opened a new course of 1.4 kilometers called the Zip Trek to add to its popular Canopy Tour (1km). The Canopy Tour involves climbing scaffolding stairs up into the jungle canopy and zipping from platform to platform high in the trees across six ziplines and two suspension bridges, a seasonal waterfall and across the canyon. The new Zip Trek starts off on the ground, which is good for those needing a little practice on the first line, then traverses ravines and ends with a whopping 300 metre crossing, 80 feet in the air, to the other side of the canyon.

smboy with Johnny 2mbThe day starts out from either the Vanuatu Jungle Zipline Ticket Booth located at Nambawan Café on Port Vila’s seafront, or with a pickup from one of the centrally located hotels. The Zipline has two daily tours at 10:45am and 1:15pm, seven days per week. On cruise ship days, there are four tours a day and passengers are picked up and returned to the wharf.   It takes about three hours door to door.

smMaundyThose not keen on participating on the Zipline can join the rest of the family on the adventure for the free jungle walk, a coffee in the beautiful Summit café and gift shop or a walk through wonderful gardens on the Summit Gardens Tour. Vanuatu Jungle Zipline also offers a loyalty program and you may receive 50% off the ticket price for the second time you do either zipline course (conditions apply: direct bookings only and you must specify the date of your original booking to verify).
