At the tip of the longest lagoon in the world is the remote island of Uepi Island Resort. If you are coming from the capital of Honiara, you will travel an hour’s flight by light plane to Seghe. From there, Uepi Staff will transport you on an 18km journey across the lagoon in a 7 metre outboard engine powered long boat. With only six bungalows, two units and two guest rooms in a tropical garden setting, Uepi Island Resort accommodates up to 26 people in a clean and comfortable accommodation.
There are six spacious, well-appointed garden or beachfront bungalows for families or couples, two units and two guest rooms. Each room has a private bathroom that is supplied with natural plant and mineral based toiletries that are 100% biodegradable.
The Beachfront Bungalows are ideal for couples or as a twin share and features a sitting area, desk, fridge and tea coffee making facilities, private deck with hammock as well as newly refurbished bathrooms.
The timber Garden Bungalows offer views of both the lagoon and channel and feature a king size bed or twin share, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, separate shower and toilet, dining area and a large shaded deck area with furniture and hammock.
The Dual Units are separated by a common wall and offer an open room that features cane furniture, king sized bed or twin share, tea and coffee making facilities and outside deck area with lovely views of Marovo Lagoon.
The Guest Rooms are perfect for larger groups such as families. With views of the lagoon, 7A has a kitchenette and is slightly larger than 7B. Each offer ensuite shower/toilet with private decks.
Breakfast and dinner is served on the dining deck at the main house while lunch is delivered to your doorstep. Uepi meals are based on organic, local produce that include fresh seafood and meat.
Locals chefs prepare delicious meals and can also cater for dietary requirements with adequate notice. Uepi Resort also has an on-site garden where most of the vegetables and fruit are grown. Meet other guests at the ‘leaf haus’ bar which offers fresh coconuts, a wide range of imported wines and beers and the well known ‘Solbrew’ beer.
Uepi Island Resort offers a range of water based activities including snorkelling, sea kayaking, fishing and diving. With an on-site dive shop, Uepi offers divers of any background, certification or experience level to explore Solomon Islands’ diverse and rich marine environment.
