Situated in Suva, Maya Dhaba Restaurant is an authentic South Indian restaurant with two outlets – one is located at MHCC Food court and the other is at Victoria Parade, which is only a few steps from Traps Bar and the night club district. If you want to enjoy a delicious, quick meal in between shopping, stop over at Maya Dhabi in the MHCC food court but if you are seeking a relaxed and intimate dining experience, then Victoria Parade would be more ideal.
Fiji has a strong Indian culture and over the years, the two cultures have meshed together to create delicious Indian delicacies infused with Pacific flavors. However if you are seeking a truly authentic Indian experience, the Maya Dhaba hires chefs directly from India to ensure the taste and food presentation is original. However it does offer a lunch menu that is Indo-Chinese, which includes noodles, rice, chicken and seafood dishes for those who prefer variety. It offers a range of meals including lemon chicken and sweet and chili fish.
By combining fresh, local ingredients with exotic spices, Maya Daba delivers mouth-watering Indian specialties including Chicken Korma, Lamb Saagwalla – a medium hot dish cooked with fresh English Spinach, fenugreek, onion and garlic and Prawn Malabar – a medium to hot curry, cooked with aromatic spices, mustard seeds and finished in coconut milk. Sides include pappadams, naan bread and roti. There is also a selection of rice dishes such as the Biryani with your choice of meat. Desserts are available on the sweets counter but homemade Indian ice-cream can be ordered. Choose from rose, pistachio or mango flavour.
Vegetarian meals are also available and the restaurant is well equipped to cater for any celebration in Suva. Open 7 days a week, lunch is open from 11am – 3pm and dinner from 6pm – 10pm. For more information, please visit www.mayadhabafiji.com or call +679 3310045.
