Castaway Island offers 66 air-conditioned spacious bures that feature traditional Fijian style thatched roofs and stylish interiors using natural rattan and local timber furnishings and the high vaulted ceilings are lined with unique and individually designed hand painted ‘tapa’ cloth. Lie in bed with your loved ones and look up at the artwork on your roof. Choose from the Family Beach Bure, Beachfront Bure, Island Bure or Ocean View Bure. All bures feature tea and coffee making facilities, a king size bed and a newly refurbished private bathroom with vanity area, separate shower and separate toilet. Most include two additional single beds with a sliding privacy screen door.
The tranquil setting of the island will only be disturbed for a moment as you decide what to eat. Fresh seasonal produce and creative flare are the essence of the Castaway menus. Eat traditional and classic island fare at the Waters Edge Restaurant, or enjoy Asian inspired meals at Restaurant 1808, open only for lunch. Tuck into a sushi, burger or wrap at Nuku Marau, open for breakfast and lunch, or enjoy a pizza with the kids at Sundowner Bar.
Now that you’re fuelled up with energy, choose from a range of water and land activities. The resort lists daily activities on a blackboard near the Boutique store with information on free activities including snorkelling, kayaking, standup paddle boarding, beach volleyball, windsurfing, glass bottom boat viewing, bushwalking and cooking demos. Some activities have fees including parasailing and jet skiing.
